Out Of Love

So this it? This is the end? Twenty years gone down the drain And what am I to do, standing here? In front of you waiting for a change of mind Nostalgia strikes wild the brain Melancholy fills the heart I hold my breath, I hold my tears In silence, accept it all and tuck it in Out of love, out of love My love for you will never fade No matter what, no matter how I'll swallow the grief and I'll hold on I'll hold on Onto our memories of joy and the good times and The simple things Of you and I and us.

Let the wind Blow on my fragile wounded memory Let the wind Blow all you've left behind and take me As you don't love me anymore Let it blow the fire in me As you don't love me anymore I'll let it kill the light left in me Let the wind Blow on equations and divisions Let the wind Blow on additions and subtractions Cause you don't love me anymore Let it cool all our emotions It doesn't matter anymore Cause you don't want me anymore Through additions and subtractions I don't love us anymore Through contagions and illusions You don't love us anymore Let the wind blow Let the wind blow Let the wind blow And never bring us back together Let the wind Blow on my fragile wounded memory Let the wind Blow all you've left behind and take me As you don't love me anymore Let it blow the fire in me As you don't love me anymore I'll let it kill the light left in me Let the wind blow Let the wind blow Cause you don't love me anymore You don't love me anymore.

Come Along 04:17
When you find yourself alone Dereliction hits the bone Come along When your heart's in a cage And your soul's in a rage Come along When your wings have been clipped And your skin has been whipped Come along When your mind's moving slow And you're feeling way too low Come along Come along Love, love will always take you high Love will take you to the sky Love will always make you fly Love, love will always make you shine Love is real, love is blind Love will open up your mind When you feel you're in a haze And the sadness and the daze Come along When you're reaching for the blade And your head's in the shade Come along When you're nothing and you're stripped And your life has been ripped Come along When your mind's moving slow And you're feeling way too low Come along When you're lost in the rain You can't walk or bear the pain Come along When you're feeling like a fool And your fate is so uncool Come along When your wings have been clipped And your skin has been whipped Come along Love Love will always take you high Love will take you to the sky Love will always make you fly Love Love will always make you shine Love is real, love is blind Love will open up your mind Love will always take you high Love will take you to the sky Love will always make you fly So come along with me now Love will always make you shine Love is real, love is blind Love will open up your mind So come along with me now Come along Come along yeah

What about you, standing there? Cold as ice telling me we're friends I'm not allowed to hold you, not to even Touch you, one last time before we part And you... oh you, are bereft of any warmth Is that all that's left of our complicity? And you... oh you, are devoid of any feeling Where did it all go wrong so suddenly? And my oh my have I missed something? Is it my fault or it is it yours? I'm still wondering And my oh my how did we reach that point? We, the ones who mocked others' separations But I'll let go And yet I'll drink to our memories of joy and The simple things of you and I and us Can't forget them no, won't let you take them no You'll never fade away, I won't let you no I won't You're a part of me and I'm a part of you Intertwined in love, in life, in death Out of love, out of love My love for you will never die Those twenty years will never get Washed away.

about

Caesar Gergess's second solo album Out of Love, recorded in the summer of 2016, is the epitome of an awaited healing catharsis. A breakup album fully inspired by Adele, Björk, Thom Yorke and Clare McGuire's approach to separation, loss and depression on their respective breakup albums.

Out of Love sees Gergess collaborating once more with virtuoso pianist Alain Daniel, guest vocalist Ginnie Watson and sound engineer Nicolas Posé who defined and shaped Caesar's special sound through the years.

Caesar's voice has evolved ever since the recording sessions of his debut solo album Journeys by Night and has reached a level of strongly emotional undisguised rawness. Each and every song has Caesar Gergess pouring his heart out while conveying genuine feelings in relation to what his own personal heart aching breakup had put him through.

Out of Love starts where Journeys by Night ended - somewhere sombre and starless. After Journeys by Night's city soundscapes, the listener is led into a dark forest at night where a lonesome, forlorn, heartbroken soul is left wandering in the sinuous meanders of its thoughts, desperately trying to seek comfort in the eerie sounds of the creatures in the woods, the wind in the trees and the soothing water sounds.

Piano and Theremin from beginning to end, along with emotionally strong vocals and nocturnal ambient sounds; here are the main ingredients of Out of Love which opens and ends with an eponymous poem written by Caesar and read by Ginnie Watson, who outstandingly sets the raw emotional charge at its highest peak before Caesar even begins singing.

The cover songs are meticulously chosen: Trust in Me (The Jungle Book), How Insensitive (Jobim), My World is Empty Without You (The Supremes), Je suis venir te dire que je m'en vais (Gainsbourg), You Don't Know What Love Is (Chet Baker), Las Simples Cosas (Isella), Since I fell For You (Johnson), Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child (Traditional). Needless to say that Gergess has lived and is still living the story behind each song. You can hear him feel each lyric from the depths of his guts, with his heart and soul. And that, in three different languages as if aiming to make his own plaintive personal story be heard worldwide. A music connoisseur said to Gergess while listening to Je suis venu te dire que je m'en vais that its songwriter; an old friend of his, none other than Serge Gainsbourg would have been happy and proud to hear it covered the way Caesar Gergess has covered it on Out of Love.

Caesar also wrote two new songs: Let The Wind, inspired by Clare MaGuire's Falling Leaves and Come Along, an upbeat, feel-good disco song. Come Along possesses the very essence of a radio and club hit.

Let The Wind has already been released in two separate EPs with mixes by The Garland Cult and Caesar Gergess himself .

Come Along has already been remixed by Empire State Human, Robert Solheim (The Opiates), Parralox and People's Theatre. It will undoubtedly be released as a single on an EP following the release of Out of Love.

And so, Caesar Gergess's journey moves on and ventures heart and soul yet with style and dignity into a definitely more introspective field, that he remarkably explores with his rich, deep baritone voice.

More videos and visuals for Out of Love are in the making and will be released current 2019.
